Who do you want to become? Start attracting the new you, now.
I’ve just started reading Dr. Wayne Dyer’s new book called Wishes Fulfilled. From the beginning, a particular phrase really caught my attention:
“Once you place a thought into your imagination about who you want to become, I encourage you to live from that end, as if it had already materialized into the physical realm.”
Wayne Dyer’s instructions are pretty self-explanatory, but there are certain thought processes that may hinder us along the way. Today, I want to expand upon the idea of living as if.
First, you must imagine exactly who you want to become. You actually visualize how it would feel to become this new you. What would you see and hear around you? What would your day be like? What emotions would you feel? Actually feel the new you!
Capture that feeling and live it daily
After you experience this feeling, you must capture it! You not only have to visualize and feel your future self, you must maintain that feeling throughout your current, everyday existence. Yes, this does take some practice, but with a conscious effort it can be done.
As we know, like attracts like, so you can’t just say that you would like to materialize a positive change in your life while feeling sorry for yourself on a day to day basis. You are actually attracting more negative into your life by regularly entertaining thoughts of a low vibration. Can you see this?
Deal with the anxiety
Oftentimes, right when we are on the verge of a breakthrough in our lives, we back away because we are afraid. We feel anxiety and think destructive thoughts:
“Nothing will ever change.”
“I will never change my situation.”
“My goal is too difficult to accomplish.”
And so on and so on. As you see, we can be our own worst enemy! These harmful thoughts, or mind viruses as Dr. Dyer calls them, can and will stop your progress.
Be at ease. Know that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. And as long as your goal is aligned with your path, then it will happen. I know you may be thinking, “How do I know if my goal is aligned with my path – with the universe?” This is a very valid question. I have found myself asking it as well.
But here is the truth – everything unfolds exactly as it is meant to. And no matter what you experience in your life, you are being taught the valuable lessons you are meant to learn. So there really is no need to worry, because worrying will divide your mind and hinder you in every area of your life. Let it happen. With that said, meditation is a great way to understand what path you should be on and what direction you should go in. It’s all about connecting with your inner-self and becoming more spiritually aware.
What do you want to change about yourself or your life?
Imagine exactly who you want to become and visualize it – how will it feel? Remember to materialize this feeling every day.
You can even make a vision board or a slide show on your computer displaying exactly what you want to materialize. This will help to keep your vision alive. And as with most things in life, this thought process will take practice. So when you feel yourself slipping, instead of feeling upset about it, just pick up where you left off. It takes patience and practice to improve your thoughts.
Happy thoughts, my friend :)
Hey Tara,
Your status update from Fbk led me to this blog post. Glad that it happened so. You explained beautifully some core concepts. What we really want is the feeling, not the thing. We think that certain things will provide certain feelings. But we have the control. We can choose how to feel now about anything. If we tune ourselves into states of acceptance, love, joy or peace the circumstances will adjust to confirm them.
It’s all right to have desires and plans but as you said it’s important too to not force the universe. The how-to is its job. Yes, I found that remaining still clears the way and “instructions” come to you.
Thank you for sharing your insights and Wayne’s Dyer book.
Peace and love,
Radu
Thank you, Radu. I especially love it when you say “If we tune ourselves into states of acceptance, love, joy or peace the circumstances will adjust to confirm them.” What a great way to put it.
Simply Excellent…………
‘AS IF’ is the essence of fulfillment of our desires.
Love & Blessings to you and your loved ones.
Good Evening Tara;
I do believe in the actualization of how a person’s life manifests to what they wish it to become. I myself have had a passion and desire for a new life and new a career. As well, a new me. However, I now have the realization that it was not to come into my life until now. I have improved myself inwardly and as well as outwardly. It took a lot of soul searching to reach this destiny but it was well worth the lessons I have had to learn. I didn’t comprehend before why it took so long; but I am truly glad it did. It has helped me to be the soul I am today. Thank you, Holly
